Comment

I still have mixed feelings about the May 2, 1984 Montreal Clash Mack II gig.

Joe had this white suit and Paul wore camouflage trousers. The other guys ? Can't remember, except they looked punk.

Pete messed up at least three times, which got Joe very irritated. Maybe it was just a bad day...

It was an all-seated floor, but when Joe told the crowd to get up and dance, it was a rush to the stage that made the Forum bouncers very scared ! The cops were called in and one punter stole a police cap and gave it to Joe, it was hilarious !

As for the setlist ? I remember they played In the Pouring Rain and Sex Mad Roar, among others. BtT

Comment

Dominique Ritchot Moi aussi, j'y étais. The Wize Guys was the opening band. Pete Howard messed up twice during the show, people got beaten up trying to start a moshpit (Forum was a seated only venue back then). AND, this was the only time we got to hear In the Pouring Rain live.

Film: 'The Rise and Fall of The Clash'

features archival footage and new interviews to tell the story of the band's final days. The four primary members of the band - Jones, Joe Strummer, Paul Simonen and Topper Headon tell their sides of the story as do Nick Sheppard and Vince White, both of whom replaced Jones, and original drummer Terry Chimes, who returned to replace Headon in 1982.
